What’s in a class….
Students have a choice to focus on Djembe or Dun Duns or swap around as you please each week!! Their is also an opportunity to learn Krin & Bolon.
Our students will gain a complete understanding of a variety of West African Traditional Rhythms from Master drummer Amadou Kalissa, in a relaxed and fun environment. Drumming breaks, accompaniments and solo’s are taught along with an explanation of the meaning behind the rhythms through history.
Dun Duns are taught in both Traditional (drums played separately) and Modern (3 drums played together) modes.
Traditional song is also included.
Drumming has long been used for healing, self expression, creating and maintaining physical, mental and spiritual health. Not to mention a fun way to get your groove on!! Come and enjoy the benefits for yourself.!
Whilst living in Guinea, Amadou taught students from around the Globe. He now brings this experience to Melbourne along with the unique West African style of teaching.
Come and share in the ancient journey of West African traditional Drumming and experience the joy and richness of spirit that only Africa lends.
